This list is a fairly complete list of everything you could possibly need for a safe and successful backpacking trip.

Clothing Suggestions
- Hiking Boots
- Waterproof Jacket
- Long Pants – we suggest a fast drying fabric, avoid cotton and denim!
- Fleece Jacket or Wool Sweater
- Warm Hat
- Waterproof Pants
- Long Sleeve Shirt
- Light Weight Hiking Shorts
- Baseball Cap
- Short Sleeve Shirt
- Socks – we suggest wool, polypro or wool blends. Do not use cotton!
- Camp Shoes or Sandals
- Light gloves or mittens
- Bandana
This list is designed as a reference for trips in Colorado (or similar areas) during the summer months. Needs will vary depending on climate, weather, topography, altitude, season, difficulty of trip, health or special needs of individuals. The most important item to bring is common sense. Please research area thoroughly before departing on any trip.
